Outpatient Surgery Preparation

  • Please complete Pre-Admission Testing
  • Do not take aspirin or any form of blood thinners for at least seven days prior to surgery
    1. If you are prescribed blood thinning agents, consult with the prescribing physician before discontinuing.
  • Make arrangements to have someone take you to the hospital and bring you home.
  • Consume a liquid diet for dinner the night before surgery.
  • Take 1 Fleet enema before going to bed the night before the surgery.
  • Nothing by mouth after midnight the night before surgery.
    1. Routine medications may be taken with a small sip of water.
  • Take 1 Fleet enema when you wake up the morning of your surgery.
  • Schedule a follow up appointment with Dr. Matta for two weeks after surgery.
